Extra-Curricular Programme

At the ADA, we're always looking to improve. For our June - July Winter School, we will once again be offering  a series of extra-curricular activities to ensure delegates are afforded the opportunity to both broaden their horizons academically as well as get to know Stellenbosch, Cape Town and each other better. On a budget? We understand - so we've made sure all of our activities are either subsidised or planned with your pocket in mind.

In South Africa, we take our braais (barbeque, grill) very, very seriously. We can't wait to share our love for braaied meat and the traditional accompaniments with you. This social is free for course delegates and will take place on both Thursdays of the Winter School 26th June and 6th July. We will confirm attendance with delegates at the opening of the School.

Cape Town's V&A Waterfront is one of the top tourist attractions on the African continent! The ADA offers a subsidised rate on a shuttle service transporting registered course delegates to and from the Waterfront. We have arranged for a shuttle on the 2nd of July  to take delegates to Cape Town, where they can spend a relaxing day. Own programme.

3 Free workshops per week from 16:30 to 18:00

This year we offer 6 different talks and interactive sessions - no need to book, we will take delegates on a first-come-first served basis and there is ample place in all classrooms. Info is further distributed to registered delegates.

Our state-of-the-art JS Gericke Library will be presenting a free workshop for delegates who are interested in learning beyond the scope of their selected Winter School workshops. Registration for these courses will take place before and during the Winter School, with the workshops taking place after classes finish in the afternoon. The sessions below will be offered in across the two weeks and online registration forms will be circulated to confirmed delegates.
