What was your experience of Welcoming?

I was skeptical of welcoming this year with covid and I still don't think it was the best idea. None the less I really enjoyed it compared to last year as I was given mentees in my own faculty which made things a lot easier & conversations were easier to start & sustain. I also really enjoyed how 90% of my mentees continued to stay throughout welcoming which made me feel as if I was doing a good job. I felt I was friendly sincere and helpful throughout welcoming.

In your opinion, what was the most helpful aspect of being a mentor to your mentees - how did you add value to their university experience?

Being able to help my mentees get used to campus and what they can expect of their course as well as just letting them calm down so they aren't too hard on them when classes start.
