CCS – Annual Report 2009-2010

The Centre for Chinese Studies (CCS) at Stellenbosch University is the leading African research institution for innovative & policy relevant analysis of the relations between China and Africa.

During the course of 2009-2010, the CCS underwent some structural changes, and welcomed a new Director, laying the foundations for the consolidation of the Centre as the key hub for research and scholarship on China in Africa.

Read Annual ReportSince its formation in 2004, the Centre for Chinese Studies, the first institution dedicated to the study of China-Africa relations on the African continent, has completed a number of groundbreaking studies on China’s relationship with the continent.

During the course of 2007, the CCS has continued to find new and innovative areas of research, exploring various aspects of China’s engagement with Africa. This research has resulted in studies related to trade, investment, aid, agriculture and infrastructure.
