GENERAL INFORMATION

Travel Information

Cape Town International Airport is located 30 minutes´ drive from Stellenbosch. Most international flights connect to Cape Town via O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, although a number of direct flights from Europe are also available.

Transfer to and from Airport

The Congress committee cannot arrange transfers to and from the airport for all delegates. Arrangements and payment for transfers are the delegate's own responsibility.

Entry Visas

Please contact the SA Embassy or High Commission in your country or region. For contact details of SA Missions, visit the South African Department of Foreign Affairs website at http://www.dfa.gov.za/. Please ensure that there is more than 5 empty pages in your passport before applying for a visa to South Africa.

Credit Cards

Major credit cards (American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard and Visa) are accepted in most hotels, restaurants and shops.  Please note that only Visa, MasterCard and AMEX cards can be accepted with online registration for congress registration purposes.

Foreign Exchange

Most banks in Stellenbosch exchange foreign currency and traveller's cheques. Banks are open Mondays to Fridays, generally from 09:00 to 15:00 and on Saturdays from 09:00 to 11:00. Foreign exchange facilities are also available at the airport.

Internet

The Conference Centre and Hotel at Spier provides WiFi access at a cost. Vouchers can be purchased from the Hotel or at the Conference centre office.

Lunch and Refreshments

Coffee, tea and lunch will be available during breaks in the exhibition area where all the conference exhibitions will be displayed.

Audio-Visual Equipment

Data projection facilities will be provided and presenters are responsible for loading their own presentations before the session when they will be presenting. A technician will be available to assist in the relevant tea/lunch break prior to the various sessions. Please ensure that your presentation is in a windows compatible flash disk. Individual papers will be allocated a 25-minute slot (15 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for discussion) and papers in progress a 10 minute slot. Panel discussions will be 60 minutes long (including discussion).

Language

The official language of the conference will be English. Simultaneous translation service will not be provided.
