2015 Confucius Institute Day and Chinese Culture Show
The Confucius Institute at Stellenbosch University (CISU) held a Cultural show on Thursday, 3 September, celebrating the start of second semester activities as well as Confucius Institute Day.
More than 60 students from Confucius Institutes and Classrooms took part. The Chinese Cultural Show included a dance routine by LEILEI, Tai Chi, Kung Fu, paper cutting and the traditional Chinese game, Kongzhu. There was also a display of traditional clothes featuring the Qipao. The performers were exchange students from Zhejiang Normal University.
To celebrate the founding of the first Confucius Institute in the world, the organisational headquarters proposed that Confucius Institutes worldwide observes a Confucius Institute Day. In the next coming months the CISU will host a series of activities such as a Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition, Nanjing Forestry University Tour Performance and Chinese Healthcare and Medicine Seminar.
