Great Night, Great New Year
After the Lantern Festival dinner party on 26 February, the series events of 2016 Confucius Institute Chinese New Year Celebration come to an end.
More than 200 people attended the Lantern Festival dinner party, Including the Deputy Consul General in Cape Town: Li Lipei, Director of Cape Winelands Education Districts: Juan Benjamin and co-director of the Confucius Institute at Stellenbosch University (CISU) : Robert Kotzé.
As the last day of celebrating the Chinese New Year, Lantern Festival is the day for Chinese to get together and make wishes for the following new year. At the dinner party, CISU teachers and their students performed Tai-chi and Chinese songs. After the performance, traditional Chinese food and games got people more engaged in the traditional Chinese New Year culture.
