Profile

Alboricah Tokologo “TK” Rathupetsane is a junior researcher at the Centre for Sustainability Transitions (CST) at Stellenbosch University. In her current role, TK focuses on various sustainability topics like the just energy transition; climate change impacts on water, energy and food; the localisation and industrialisation opportunities associated with a greener economy as well as the creation of decent work.

TK commenced her PhD in 2023 which looks at industrialisation in the green economy, with a focus on the national grid infrastructure expansion. In addition to her academic research, she is an avid creative writer and enjoys writing climate and Africa focused science fiction stories.

TK holds a BSc in mechanical engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Masters in Sustainable Development from Stellenbosch University where she looked at the potential for wind technology industrialisation in South Africa.
