Profile

Julia joined the CST in 2021 as a postdoctoral research fellow. Her research investigates how small-scale, local or experimental initiatives, so-called “Seeds”, can contribute to transformative changes in the field of invasive species management. These seeds can be used to develop and explore visions of a more positive future, and build a better or “good” Anthropocene. Julia completed her PhD in 2020 at Griffith University, which investigated bushmeat hunting in Malawi from the viewpoint of communities and practitioners. She has general interests in participatory research, human-wildlife interactions and futures thinking.
