Profile

Jeremy is a sustainability researcher with a background in organisation transformation and strategic foresight. He holds a Bachelor of Business Science from the University of Cape Town and a Postgraduate Diploma in Sustainable Development from the University of Stellenbosch. His work spans diverse clients including global corporates, social enterprises, not-for-profits, and advocacy groups. He is enrolled in the Masters programme (MPhil in Sustainable Development) at the CST.

Viewing the sustainability transition through a lens of complexity, Jeremy’s interest is in the role of organisational form in approaching complex social-ecological problems. Specifically, he is interested in alternatives to conventional hierarchical organisational structures, such as those that mimic forms of organisation found in nature. His current research focuses on the principles and practices of place-based, community organisations in urban settings. He is also working on a paper that explores the future of urbanism including the role of the urban commons, futuring, experimentation, and participation.
