Profile

Merin Jacob is a Research Officer at the Centre for Sustainability Transitions (CST) working within the Just Energy Transitions group as researcher and project manager on several research projects, the most significant being Renewables-led Industrialisation, Jobs and the Just Transition and Sustainability Education, and is one of the regional organisers of the International Sustainability Transitions Conference 2022. Merin also acts as a convenor and learning facilitator for a number of modules within the PGDip in Sustainable Development hosted by the CST including Transdisciplinary Design for Transformation, Sustainable Development, and Sustainable Cities.
Merin holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Future Studies which led her from design and engineering into complex systems.
Prior to this, she worked at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) where she served an integrative function and addressed fragmentation in public sector projects using the whole-of-society methodology to address problems such as wildlife crime and the rhino poaching, disaster management, and food security.
