Profile

Walter is currently an MPhil Sustainable development student at the CST with his focus on Sustainable energy transitions, Urban energy transitions and Municipal energy ownership. His research topic is on: Exploring municipalities in South Africa’s energy transition: A case study of the Western Cape Government’s Municipal Energy Resilience Project. Walter holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations in Diplomacy and Foreign policy, recently completing his post graduate degree in Sustainable Development at the Sustainability Institute where he found a deep desire to pursue an MPhil in renewable energy studies. He has experience working in data driven projects in both Eastern and Southern Africa regions in development projects that look to provide equitable and sustainable societal outcomes in the NGO space.
