This past week, Helderberg not only did well on the sportfield (beating Simonsberg in a derby rugby match), we also performed well culturally.
Helderberg’s very own Franco Bassi and Reuben Murphy wrote plays for the 2017 Toneelfees – ‘Boer soek ‘n Vrou’ and ‘Die Les of Hoekom is die badkamer se vloer nat?’ respectively.
Both these plays did exceptionally, with BOTH of the plays making it through to the final round of the Toneelfees.
We would like to congratulate Franco and Reuben on their magnificent plays, as well as the fellow Swarras who performed in these plays – you lads are making us proud!
The finals will be taking place this coming Wednesday, the 26th of April 2017, in the Drostdy Theatre!
