Western Cape Peer Educators share experiences at joint event

Stellenbosch University Peer2Peer Educators, from the Office for Institutional HIV Co-ordination (OIHC), joined Peer Educators from the University of the Western Cape (UWC) and Cape Peninsula University of Techology (CPUT) for the first ever event to share their shared experiences.

Weekly Condom Distribution Report

Use this form for you weekly distribution reporting.

Condom efficacy and distribution on campus

2010 marked the successful expansion of the Office for Institutional HIV Co-ordination’s (OIHC) condom distribution project to include SU residences and various bars in town. Choice condoms are distributed to Maties through CondoCans installed in various buildings on campus and is in-line with the SU’s HIV policy, and vision of a campus free of new HIV infections.

New students trained in Facilitating Basic HIV and Gender issues

The Office for Institutional HIV Co-ordination (OIHC), at Stellenbosch University (SU), introduced a new short course to students, namely Basic HIV and Gender Facilitation. The free training program took place over two weekends in August 2010, and the Maties who were selected for the 32 hour training are now preparing to confront the issues of HIV/Aids on campus and in greater Stellenbosch district.
