Our Steinhoff Maties Men’s Third side had a great but tough season! They are currently fifth in the Men’s Reserve Challenge. They have played 15 matches: won 5, drew 6 and only lost 4. Our Steinhoff Maties Men’s 4th side had a cracker of a season this year! They have played 16 matches: won 13, lost 2 and drew 1. They scored 81 goals (most goals in the MTC league at this stage). Despite their 2 losses they are still comfortably in the second position with 40 points. Central thirds are currently 1st with 43 points and three games to go. Although some might say Central will take the league, as they have 3 matches left and 3 points ahead, you should never underestimate sport… Anything can happen! So lads, good luck with your last 2 matches and end with a BANG! Saturday 15:00 vs Bellville 2. Sunday 12:00 vs Pinelands 3 at Hartleyvale! Come and support!
Steinhoff Ladies 5th Team L2 league winners
Our #steinhoffmaties ladies 5th team had an amazing season! They are currently 1st on the L2 log with 2 games to go!🙌 16 Matches: Won 15, lost 1. With 18 goals against them and 89 goals for them💪 Other top 4 teams will not be able to get to the 68 points of our ladies SO they are technically the 2017 L2 winners!! 💥💥This will see our ladies move to Ladies Town Challenge in 2018. Steinhoff Victorian Ladies end their season back in the top 4
Our Steinhoff Victorian ladies is back on track after an exciting season of hockey. This year we see our Vixens back in the top 4, of the Grand Challenge League, since 2014. They unfortunately lost in the knock out cup against Conberg the past weekend but none the less they reached their top 4 goal. Congratulations to Coach Anche Nortje, Captain Deandi van de Vyver and the rest off the team! Excited to see what you have planned for 2018 – maybe top 2? 🙂

After their 8-0 victory, our Steinhoff Maties ladies are the 2017 WP Grand Challenge winners! Congratulations to all players & coaching staff!
This year is the fifth consecutive year that both our men and ladies won the Grand Challenge League and the seventh consecutive year that the ladies won the title. In the past seven years they played 103 matches: they lost 3, drew 7 and won 103. They scored 467 goals and only conceded 48.
Although they are the 2017 winners another title is up for grabs: the Playoff Cup. This is where the top 4 teams play in semi’s (1 vs 4 & 2 vs 3) to determine the finalists who will battle it out on the 26th of Aug at Hartleyvale. Current contenders for top 4 is WPCC, SSW, Conberg & our Victorian ladies. Come down to the astro on Saturday, 12 Aug, where the Maties Men & Ladies play second on the log WPCC. Ladies at 16:30 & Men at 18:00.

Congratulations to our Steinhoff Maties XI Men on winning their 5th consecutive Grand Challenge league title! During the last 5 years the lads played 74 matches in the GC League where they won 59, drew 14 and only lost once (2016). They scored a massive 309 goals in their 74 matches (avg 4 goals per game) with only 69 goals against them. Although they have 2 more matches left in the 2017 round robin league they still qualify as the league winners. The next step now is the 2017 Playoff Cup.
