MAD2
Die Universiteit van Stellenbosch hou jaarliks MAD2 (Make a decision to make a difference) tot die voordeel van Matie Gemeenskapdiens. Dit is die universiteit se nie-winsgewende organisasie wat betrokke is in vele welsyn- en gemeenskapsontwikkelingprojekte in die Wes-Kaap. MAD2 gee studente die geleentheid om aktief by te dra tot die verbetering van lewenskwaliteit en voorheenbenadeelde lede van die gemeenskap te help. MAD2 is slegs die begin van die nuwe jaar se gemeenskapsinteraksie. Huis ten Bosch en Simonsberg beoog om in 2012 ‘n spesiale bydrae te maak en ons fondsinsamelingsaksies hoop om daardie belangrike finansiële steun vir ons onderskeie projekte te bied.
The University of Stellenbosch annually holds MAD2(Make a decision to make a difference) for the benefit of Maties Community Service. This is the university’s non-profit organisation that is involved in many welfare and community development projects in the Western Cape. MAD2 gives students an opportunity to actively contribute to uplifting disadvantaged members of our communities and the improving of the quality of their lives. MAD2 is merely the start of the new year’s community involvement. Huis ten Bosch and Simonsberg aim to make a special contribution in 2012 and hope that our fund-raising actions will provide financial support to our respective projects.

Vensters is die mees opwindende geleentheid tydens MAD2.
Alhoewel niemand dit rêrig mag sê nie, weet almal tog dis waaroor die grootste boehaai opgeskop word. Die meeste van die seniors kruip dan uit hul vakansiegate en keer vroeg terug kampus toe om die vreugdevolle geleentheid saam te beleef.
Vensters is die eerstejaarsproduksie waarin elke eerstejaar deelneem (m.a.w. dit is ‘n eerstejaarskonsert). Elke koshuis MAD2paar neem saam deel aan hierdie produksie, soos meeste van die ander MAD2 aktiwiteite
Daar word op ‘n tema besluit, wat pret en humour insluit, met ‘n “take home” boodskap wat op die einde weergegee word. Die produksie sluit dans, drama en musiek in wat dan opgevoer word.
Dit is werklik ‘n geleentheid om na uit te sien.
Vensters is the most exciting event during MAD2.
Although no one may actually say this, everyone knows that this is what all the fuss is about during MAD2. Even most of the seniors climb out of their holiday holes and head back to campus early enough not to miss this joyful event.
Vensters is the first years’ production in which all first years participate (ie. It’s a first years’ concert). MAD2 partners form a team for this production, like most of the MAD2 activities.
A theme for this production is decided before the end of the previous year, this theme includes fun and humor and a take home message in the end. The production includes dancing, drama and music, which will be performed on stage.
It is truly an event to look forward to!
