Arrival timeFor the first semester of 2011, incoming international students should expect to arrive from 8 January in order to settle in, acclimatise and find permanent accommodation (if not pre-arranged through the Postgraduate & International Office). Take note that all new international students are encouraged to attend the Orientation and Welcoming ProgrammeTransfer from Cape Town to Stellenbosch The Postgraduate & International Office provides a transfer service between Cape Town International Airport and Stellenbosch or from Cape Town train station should you arrive by mainline bus or train. The transfer service is available to all new international and postgraduate students, but only for the first arrival. Please look out for our representative bearing a “Stellenbosch University Postgraduate & International Office” sign. If you are lost or cannot find your transfer, phone one of the following numbers: +27 (0)21 8082567 (weekdays, during office hours) or 079 078 3549 Accommodation upon arrivalStudents making use of University Accommodation If you arrive on a weekday during office hours you can move into your room after paying a short visit to the Postgraduate & International Office. However, should you arrive in Stellenbosch after 15h15 or on a weekend, you should make use of temporary accommodation. Please indicate your need for temporary accommodation on the Arrival Sheet. The Postgraduate & International Office will make the necessary bookings for your own account. You will still be met at the point of arrival and taken to the temporary accommodation. Students making use of Private Accommodation Students who wish to look for their own private accommodation once they are in Stellenbosch can also request temporary accommodation (which will be for your own account) by sending an e-mail to: gina@sun.ac.za. You will be met at the point of arrival and taken to the Postgraduate & International Office or temporary accommodation. |
