The International Students Organisation of Stellenbosch ( ISOS ) is a student organisation that aims to bring together all international students and to share cultural insights. Throughout the semester, ISOS organises excursions and various social activities aimed at learning more about South Africa , its people and its culture.
ISOS also runs a community interaction initiative in the nearby locality of Kayamandi. International students consistently volunteer their time organizing an after-school program that is central to the ISOS -Kayamandi Project. The International Office provides an office space to ISOS and two student assistants to coordinate the activities of ISOS and the ISOS -Kayamandi Project. Appointments for the ISOS executive committee and ISOS -Kayamandi Project volunteers are made at the beginning of each semester to ensure input and participation from the wider international student community. Stellenbosch has many other student organizations and societies on campus, but it is only ISOS which caters specifically to the needs and interests of international students. We do encourage our international students to get involved in other organizations and activities and Stellenbosch offers a great variety of extracurricular and athletic organizations.
