Mr & Miss Irene Finalists 2011

Mr & Miss Irene

Category : First Years

This year, the Mr & Miss Irene pageant was held at Stellenbosch High School on 16 February. About 35 first years applied and after an awkward interview round, 12 finalists were chosen: Anchen Van Dyk, Anéle Gouws, Bianca Smit, Bredine Kruger, Cecile Dixon, Chané Bunning, Denise Deetlefs, Emily Kempton-Jones, Mri Cloete, Richelle Du Preez, Robyn Campbell and Salomi Dippenaar.

Mr & Miss Irene Finalists 2011

The ladies opened the evening with a “Black and Gold” sexy dance choreographed by Kylie Bunning and Hannah Walsh. The finalists then proceeded to look gorgeous in casual wear and beach wear on the catwalk. They also showed their creativity with their “green” outfits, which they made themselves out of completely recyclable materials.

The themed outfit for the evening was “Pop Culture” and each finalist was given a different pop star to dress as, such as: Lady Gaga, Missy Elliot and Britney Spears to name a few. The crowd responded enthusiastically to the personality displayed by the finalists during this round.

The judges for the evening were Berné De Klerk (CEO of Fox Models), Craig Le Roux (Rapport Model of the Year) and Matthew Manderson (Helderberg HK). While the judges made their final decisions and tallied their scores, there were outstanding performances by a few bands from Helderberg. Irene also said goodbye to the former Miss Irene 2010, Chandré Bouman.

Congratulations to the following winners of Miss Irene 2011: Emily Kempton-Jones (Miss Irene), Bianca Smit (1st Princess), Chané Bunning (2nd Princess), Richelle Du Preez (Miss Personality) and Anchen Van Dyk (Miss Photogenic).

Eerstejaarsnaweek

Category : First Years

Nuwe dag, Nuwe Adventures!

Becoming an Irener
