Welcome to Campus Health Service!

Dr Pierre Viviers, MBChB, serves as the Senior Director to Campus Health Service.

In May 2009, we officially opened our doors as Campus Health Service. This division was previously known as Student Health Service and was only open to the students of the campus. With the new services offered, our doors now also opened to the staff of the University.

Campus Health Services now boosts 4 focus areas which includes Medical Care, Health Promotion & Preventative Care, Sports Medicine and Occupational Health

The Stellenbosch University Campus Health Service (CHS) offers an integrated campus, easy accessible health service where staff members and students can go to get assistance with a range of health concerns.

Should the services of a doctor be required an appointment can be made telephonically or in person. The CHS is open from 08:00 to 17:00 and is also open during University holidays. It is also a preferred provider for staff who belongs to the OCSA-Care medical-aid scheme and is available at standard medical aid rates to staff and students who belong to Discovery and other medical aids. Claims are submitted electronically.

This service forms part of the SU’s focus on wellness and has two branches: one in Claassen Street – between the Metanoia and Heemstede residences – and one at Tygerberg campus.
