Centre for Student Counseling and Development / Sentrum vir Studente Voorligting en Ontwikkeling (CSCD/SSVO)

Students and personnel can contact the Centre on 0218084707 to make an appointment for counseling (depression, study help, etc)

  1. Acute Care – we diagnose and treat everyday illnesses – cold and flu, hayfever, upset stomachs, migraines.
  2. Chronic Care – we diagnose chronic diseases eg Diabetes, Hypertension, Raised Cholesterol. We advise on management and refer to the appropriate specialists for treatment.
  3. Sexual and Gender Health – we offer advice on contraception, prevention of sexually transmitted diseases. We do basic gynaecological exams for our female patients. We treat sexually transmitted diseases.
  4. Mental Health – University can be a stressful place. We diagnose and treat a variety of mental conditions – from the run-of-the-mill “exam stress” to depression.
  5. Communicable Diseases – we offer prophylaxis against diseases such as measles, mumps and chicken pox. We also treat these illnesses.
  6. Substance Abuse – Alcohol, smoking and drugs – we can assist you in overcoming these addictions.
