The South African Military Academy welcomes international students to study at either under- or postgraduate level.  As a military institution, any approval must be granted through a collaborative arrangement between the South African National Defence Force and that particular country that is managed by the Department of Defence Foreign Relations. 

The Military Academy has an agreement with the French Military Academy, St Cyr, whereby they send cadets to Saldanha for three months to study a postgraduate module in the field of Security and Africa Studies. Since 1991, various members from the SADC region has enrolled as under- or postgraduate students.  These students are:


Transkei

1. Maholwana, G. completed his BMil degree in Management Sciences in December 1994.
2. Qwele, G. completed his BMil degree in Physical Science in December 1994.
3. Malotana, L. completed his BMil degree in Management Sciences in December 1994.

Swaziland

1. Dludlu, F.S.S. completed his BMil in Management Sciences in December 1996.
2. Kunene, completed his BMil Human Sciences in December 2000.

Botswana

1. Mukokomani, M.M. completed his BMil in Human Organisation Development in December 2006.
2. Moswetsi, W. completed his BMil Honours in Technology in April 2005 and his MMil in Technology in December 2007, Cum Laude.
3. Thobane, B.N. completed his BMil Honours in Security and Africa Studies in April 2005 and his MMil in Security and Africa Studies in December 2007.

Mozambique

1. Ndobe, N.S. completed her BMil in Human Organisation Development in December 2010.
