STAFF

Commander (SA Navy) HAP Smit became the Chair of School of GeoSpatial and Information Systems in June 2012.  He is currently busy with a PhD in Geography and Environmental Studies at Stellenbosch University.   His research in this regard deals with the Environmental Literacy of South African Army personnel.  His other research interest include military Geography, Historical Geography and Environmental Geography.


Mr Godwin Ayirebi is a lecturer in Deaprtment of Geography.  He was the former Chair of the School GeoSpatial Studeis and Information Systems from 2006 to 2012.  Mr Ayirebi is currently working on his PhD.  His research areas are on National Game Parks and Ecotourism.  His teaching interests are in Geography of Sub-Sharan Africa, Philosophy of Geography, Political Geography, Mapwork, Human Settlements and Environmental Geography.

Mr Ayirebi seeks collaboration in the development of Border study curriculum.
