The x ray on the previous page shows a cystic lesion of the proximal femur with a valgus angulation of the proximal metaphysis.
As the cyst had already been interfered with by the original surgery, a definite diagnosis (it was probably an ABC because of the expansion of the femoral shaft,) was not made. The final histological report was that of a benign tumor.
Treatment Curettage and proximal valgus osteotomy done with paediatric hip screw. Cavity packed with morcellised allograft. Two years later the cyst has consolidated and the sliding screw and plate was removed.
