Xray of proximal humerus 2 years previously. Patient had experienced pain and visited her general practitioner for an X ray.
The Early xray on this page shows speckled calcification of the bone in the humeral metaphysis. The differential diagnosis is between enchondroma, chondroblastoma and chondrosarcoma.
The magnetic resonance image shows the fracture with healing callus.Biopsy the first time yielded only healing callus. As the X rays suggested a more aggressive condition, rebiopsy was done. This showed an underlying chondrosarcoma to be the cause of the fracture.
