MRI On the T2 weighted sequences the lesion appears hyperintense and is oval in shape.
Radiologically, schwannomas present as well-circumscribed lytic, expansile lesions with sclerotic borders.
Management
Lesion was resected -rounded lesion was adjacent but not integral with the tibial nerve. The neurological function improved.
Most lesions may be observed without surgery. Curettage is effective for symptomatic or large lesions. This lesion was symptomatic and excision was thought necessary.
