Students now have the opportunity to engage in an interactive study environment, at different locations off-campus. The Division of Telematic Services [TS] has created services and centres to allow geographically dispersed students to participate in the postgraduate academic programmes of Stellenbosch University. Students enrolled for academic programmes on the TS platform are supported by a combination of satellite, cell phone (SMS protocol), web based and smart card technology.

Students off-campus also have the opportunity to request assistance from the University's library (J.S. Gericke Library) for electronic resources.
