Postgraduate Diploma in Translation

 

This practice-oriented programme that is taught over one year, offers students a choice between any of the African Languages of South Africa, Afrikaans, English, French and German. Two of these languages are chosen for editing and as source and target languages for translation and interpreting. Students do modules in translation and interpreting theory, editing theory, practical translation, practical interpreting, practical editing, lexicography and a compulsory internship. 

Note that not all languages are necessarily offered each year – the offering is determined by demand. Admission requirements are any Bachelor’s degree and a successful entry examination.
