Standard Bank will be funding a scholarship award for 8 students from disadvantaged backgrounds from the emerging market countries where they maintain offices, with main focus on Africa. This is in line with Standard Bank's strategic commitment to being responsive to the development needs of the societies and environments in which they operate.
The scheme is being delivered in partnership with the London School of Economics (LSE). The first scholarships will be awarded to students starting their postgraduate studies in October 2011. The LSE administers the whole process. To be considered, applicants must have an acceptance for a specific Masters programmes that the LSE offers and make a funding application via the LSE Graduate Support Scheme.
Once holding an offer of a place, eligible students are invited to apply for the Brendon Harris Scholarship via the Financial Support Office at LSE. Scholarships will be awarded on a needs basis
