RIMS InfoEd
Stellenbosch University is a leading member of a consortium of South African tertiary institutions and statutory councils that will use InfoEd.
The system comprises the following modules:
- Grants and Contracts
- Human Studies and Clinical Trials
- Animal Studies, Breeding and Census
- Environmental Safety
- Intellectual Property
- Expertise Management
- Research output information
- Funding opportunities.
Every user will use certain core modules and the use of other modules will depend on the environment and specific needs.
The system will integrate with current systems on various levels:
- With administrative systems like Human Resources, Finance & Student Systems via an Enterprise Staging Area (ESA)
- With non-administrative systems e.g. e-Theses and dissertations (D-space), and
- With system-to-system submissions of funding proposals both locally (NRF and SU specific funding opportunities) and internationally (NIH).
At the moment, we are busy configuring and localising the system for use within Stellenbosch University. We will communicate regularly with our researchers to inform them of our progress.
