RV 272 Uitkomste

Die RV 272 kursus bestaan uit die volgende vier modules:

  • Gevorderde Word
  • Gevorderde Excel
  • Inleiding tot MatLab of Inleiding tot Visio
  • Inleiding tot Access

Kursusmateriaal

Geen voorgeskrewe boek word gebruik nie. Klasnotas sal voorsien word.

Kursusstruktuur

  •  Gevorderde Word:
    		•  Vyf voorlesings, waarvan twee tutoriale is
  •  Gevorderde Excel:
    		•  Tien voorlesings, waarvan twee tutoriale is
  •  Inleiding tot Matlab:
    		•  Tien voorlesings, waarvan vyf tutoriale is.
  •  Inleiding tot Visio:
    		•  Tien voorlesings, waarvan vyf tutoriale is
  •  Inleiding tot Access:
    		•  Tien voorlesings, waarvan twee tutoriale is.

     

      

      

    Finale punte

    Vir elke module moet ‘n subminimum van 40% behaal word, asook ‘n geweegde gemiddelde van 50% vir alle modules gesamentlik om die kursus suksesvol af te lê.Alle toetspunte word op WebStudies bekend gemaak.

    Evaluering

    Daar is twee toets geleenthede vir elk van die modules. Die eerste toets geleentheid is verpligtend en sal so gou moontlik na afloop van die module, geskryf word. Studente sal slegs die tweede toets geleentheid kan benut in een van die volgende gevalle:

    • Die student het nie die subminimum vereiste van 40% in een of meer van die modulestydens die eerste tietsgeleentheid behaal nie.

    • Die student het nie die geweegde gemiddelde van van 50% vir al die modules gesamentlik behaal nie.

    • Die student was afwesig weens siekte tydens die eerste toets geleentheid nen het ‘n geldige mediese sertifikaat getoon en ingelewer binne 14 dae na afloop van die eerste toets geleentheid.Alle toetse bestaan uit ‘n geskrewe gedeelte waarin kort antwoorde verskaf moet word, asook ‘n praktiese gedeelte.

    RV 272 Outcomes

    The RV 272 course comprises the following four modules:

    • Advanced Word
    • Advanced Excel
    • Introduction to MatLab or Introduction to Visio
    • Introduction to Access

    Course material

    No prescribed textbook. Class notes will be provided.

    Course structure

  •  Advanced Word :
    		•  Five lectures, of which two are tutorials
  •  Advanced Excel:
    		•  Ten lectures, of which two are tutorials
  •  Introdution to Matlab:
    		•  Ten lectures, of which five are tutorials
  •  Introduction to Visio:
    		•  Ten lectures, of which five are tutorials
  •  Introduction to Access:
    		•  Ten lectures, of which two are tutorials

     

     

     

     

    Final marks

    For each module a subminimum of 40% is required as well as a weighted average of 50% for all modules to complete this coursse successfully.All test marks will be published on WebStudies.

    Evaluation

    There will be two test opportunities for each of the modules. The first test opportunity is compulsory and will be written as soon as the module has been completed. Students will only be allowed to write the second test opportunity in one of the following circumstances:

    • The student did not meet the subminimum requirement of 40% during the first test opportunity
    • The student did not meet the weighted average requirement of 50%  after completing the all the tests
    The student was absent from the first test opportunity due to illness and showed and handed in a valid medical certificate within 14 days of the first test opportunityAll tests comprises a theory and a practical section.

    COMPUTER SKILLS

    REKENAARVAARDIGHEID

    Computer Skills is an integral module of the Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc). All first year BSc students must do Computer Skills. Computer Skills in the first year of study is referred to as RV171 (Rekenaarvaardigheid 171). Computer Skills in the second year of the Degree is referred to as RV272 while Computer Skills in the third year of the BSc degree is RV372. Although Computer Skills is compulsory for all first year BSc students (RV171), Computer Skills in the second year of the degree (RV272) and Computer Skills in the third year of the BSc degree (RV372) is optional, depending on the selected stream of the BSc degree eg. students pursuing the Geology stream of the BSc degree have to complete Computer Skills for all three years of study.
