The SUN Music Recording Studios are located In the heart of the historic town of Stellenbosch, South Africa. Only 25 minutes from Cape Town International airport, Stelenbosch is known for it's wine, breathtaking scenery and is home to about 25 000 students studying at Stellenbosch University.

What we have

With 916.6m² of Capturing and control room space it is one of the largest studios in the world. The Conservatoire building, which houses the Stellenbosch University Department of Music, was designed to be a state-of-the-art recording facility. Twenty-seven grand pianos, artist rooms with beds and showers, no parallel walls, sand-filled doors and superior acoustic design gives Sun Music the edge.

Where to stay

Stellenbosch is a very popular tourist destination which offers a wide variety of accommodation ranging from camp sites to 5-star lodges. There is at least seven guest houses within a 500m radius as well as backpackers lodges close-by.

What to do

The possibilities are endless. Cape Town is 50 km away, visit the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, take a boat trip to Robben Island, go up Table Mountain with the aerial cableway.

Within walking distance from our studios you would find restaurants, nightclubs and two shopping malls. Several companies offer wine tours to some of the many wine farms around Stellenbosch.
