Stellenbosch University Studios are the commercial recording facilities of the Music Department and we specialize in the production of music for film, advertisements, as well as commercial classical and popular music albums. Situated 25 minutes for Cape Town International Airport, the historical town of Stellenbosch is known for it's wine, breathtaking scenery and is home to about 25 000 students.
Various scores for internationally released films have been recorded at SUN Studios. We are fully equipped for up to 7.1 surround productions and have an in-house symphony orchestra. Due to the permanent availability of gear and musicians we can produce music for advertisements and presentations much faster and at lower budgets than the competition
We do album productions across many genres. Grammy awarded artists like Switchfoot and Ladismith Black Mambazo to classical. Vintage analog ger in combination with cutiing-edge digital facilites offers. Extras include tracking in more than one studio at the same time to reduce production cost as well as providing artists with Pro Tools rigs to facilitate pre-production
Location Filming, Archiving and Transfers, Audio Restoration, Live Location recording, Mixing / Recording for Outside Broadcast. Since the real thing is always better we also offer string and brass section orchestration and recording on existing tracks. We are also willing to process any of your existing tracks through our analog gear.
