Course Information
Students are required to follow three academic courses.
Academic Credits / Weight:
6 US Credits / 12 ECTS (2 US Credits / 4 ECTS Credits per course)
Main Academic Courses (Mandatory):
- The Political Economy of the Global South
- Community Participatory Development
- Understanding Development in Africa – A Policy Perspective
The General Academic Objectives of the Student Forum are:
- To give a broad overview of the existing developmental paradigms within the world;
- To provide a proper understanding of the economic, as well as the political factors involved when thinking about development;
- Exposure to policy making with clear developmental concerns;
- To enable students to engage and interact with communities in a productive and inclusive manner;
- To point to the important role a community plays in its own development;
- To illustrate the importance of higher education within the developmental process
Grade Composition:
Students will be evaluated in all three course components; a final group presentation will make up for the final 25 % of a student’s mark. Please see below the grade composition of the Student Forum:
