All Stellenbosch University students who would like the opportunity to represent Maties at the USSA Championships on 17-19 July this year needs to attend at least four of the six trials that will be held to qualify for the team.
The team will be selected on a points basis, with the position each member achieves in a trial contributing to the overall standing of that member. Once all the trials have been run, the ladies and mens teams will be selected form the top placing candidates on the log.
Below are the dates for the trials. Follow the each trial’s event on Facebook, to be kept up to date with the venues as well as any changes that may arise.
2013 Trial Dates:
- 2nd March – Strand Pipe
- 9th March – Strand Pipe
- 13th April – Onrus
- 20th April – Strand Pipe / Kogelbay [TBC]
- 27th April – Strand Pipe / Kogelbay [TBC]
- 4th May – Strand Pipe / Kogelbay [TBC]
Please attempt to attend all of the Trials if you are interested in making the Team, rather than leaving it up to chance in the last four trials. It is a fact of nature that the trials will usually take place in poor conditions, and therefore it is important that you would allow yourself as much opportunities as possible to attain a fair standing over multiple trials.
