Greetings all wine lovers and drinkers, the Wine Society Committee extends a warm welcome to all of those who have already joined the wine society and to all those who still intend to join.
For those of you who are new to the wine society, let me just say that this is the society to join and congratulations on your fine selection. The University of Stellenbosch Wine and Culture Society is a vibrant and social society in which one can enrich their knowledge of wines, meet new people and enjoy exposure to many great events. There are tours twice a week, weekends away, functions (including opening, closing and formal functions) and many special deals regarding festivals and the like. Although the Wine Society is all about fun, there is also a great deal of learning and appreciating involved, with the opportunity to acquire a sound understanding of and appreciation for the greatest beverage. What you as members of the Society extract from this year is entirely up to you, nothing is compulsory… except fun! All events are voluntary and you will be informed of them via email, but it is up to you to sign up for events. For those of you who don’t know, there is a notice board next to Springbok shop in the Neelsi. The office is on the top level: go up the stairs at Standard Bank, walk through the passage with MFM on your left and then turn left. The office is just down the passage on the right. Lists are stuck up on the board and this is where all sign ups for events take place.
Our calendar is already bursting like a ripe grape with awesome events and we look forward to sharing this year with you!
