Dr Anton Olivier

Alumnus of the faculties of Engineering, and Economic and Management Sciences

“It has always been my desire to be a positive influence…”

From Windhoek to Ghana to Papua New Guinea to Timor-Leste to Uganda—the impact of Dr Anton Olivier’s work can be traced to various places across the globe.

A certified project management professional with over 30 years of experience, he has facilitated the formulation of more than 40 strategic plans for central and local governments, state-owned enterprises and NGOs.

His skills and interests are mostly in strategy planning and execution, performance management and project management—focusing on the public sector—in order to help create real sustainable value for the public and specific stakeholders. Anton has been CEO of Stratex Consulting (www.stratexconsult.com) in Namibia since 2004.

“I work mostly in institutional development and capacity building within various engineering sectors. These include water and sanitation, roads and transport, electricity, as well as various NGOs and professional institutions.

“I am currently team leader on an EU-funded project that provides technical assistance to the Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers. Other recent projects included project evaluations in Eswatini and Timor-Leste, as well as strategic planning in Namibia, Papua New Guinea, Ghana, and Lesotho.”

Anton believes that, over the years, Stratex has come to be respected as having a positive influence on the Namibian landscape.

“I’ve been privileged to have been engaged with many interesting and challenging national and local projects in Namibia. It has always been my desire to be a positive influence there with regard to who I am and what I do. Ultimately, I believe that all that I am and have come from God and that He appointed us to bear fruit, fruit that will last (John 15:16).”

There are several upcoming projects and appearances that he is excited about.

“My latest project started earlier this year in Uganda and will run up to the end of 2020. In addition, I look forward to all the new doors that God will open for me in the future.”

With so many professional hats to wear, and with so many duties to execute, what does he do when and if there’s free time?

“I am a family man. My wife, Gonda, and children, Henri and Carla, are the most important people for me in this life. When we aren’t relaxing together, we enjoy exploring the world, walking/hiking, swimming (and snorkelling where the water is clear and safe).”
