Tikwiza Silubonde has been appointed as a member of the South African Monitoring and Evaluation (SAMEA) Board. SAMEA is a Voluntary Organization for the Professionalization of Evaluation (VOPE) that “strives to cultivate a vibrant community that will support, guide and strengthen the development of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) as an important discipline, profession and instrument for empowerment and accountability in South Africa, (SAMEA, 2021).”

As a national association, SAMEA is open to all individuals interested in monitoring and evaluation.

The position on the SAMEA Board is for a three-year term, effective from January 2021. Through this appointment, M&E at CREST will remain closely linked to and continue to inform research and capacity strengthening in M&E in South Africa and beyond. Other previous SAMEA Board members from M&E CREST include Dr Lauren Wildschut (SAMEA Chairperson 2018) and Nozipho Ngwabi (2017 to 2020).

“My M&E research experience and skills will enable me to take forward SAMEA’s research and scholarship work and foster the practice of documenting and sharing learning among M&E stakeholders.”
