Research interests:

Economic geography, particularly the morphological development of urban regions over time, the economic and spatial effects of policy in terms of its effect on population settlement patterns and firm location in a dual-sector economy.

Biography

Herman Geyer graduated in 2007 and has worked in diverse planning disciplines in South Africa and the UK including environmental planning, development economics, regional statistics and town planning. As a consultant he has been involved in various capacities including private sector rezonings and subdivisions, the formulation of district and municipal plans, feasibility studies and audits and public participation facilitation. He completed a Masters degree in Regional and Urban Planning Studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2011. Since 2011 he has been involved in research and lecturing at CRUISE.
