The USAID-funded Resilient Waters Program (RWP) aims to build more resilient and water secure southern African communities and ecosystems through improving management of transboundary natural resources and increasing access to safe drinking water and sanitation services. To achieve this, the Program collaborates with a variety of regional entities, including River Basin Organizations (RBOs) – mostly OKACOM, LIMCOM and BUPUSA, Transfrontier Conservation Areas (TFCAs) – KAZA and GTLFCA, national governments, and local communities to build enduring institutions, develop more robust information systems, and promote practices that enhance sustainable natural resource management throughout Southern Africa.

Broadly Nadia will provide an overview of the project, the stakeholders and its aims and highlight some of the tensions but also opportunities of working as a research partner in projects that are funded by aid organisations, which will hopefully facilitate an open discussion for those of us working in a similar space.
