Profile

Johanna is pursuing an MPhil in Sustainable development, Planning and Management with Stellenbosch University.

Her vision is continual contribution to environmental management, sustainable development and benefit sharing of resources on a wide spectrum. She is particularly interested in the synergies between the water, energy, and food nexus, and to harness the merits and demerits of Anthropocene on water supply, air quality, food security and other factors affecting rural communities in Namibia still confronted with water security challenges.

Her current research activities are centred around rural water supply scheme performance in Namibia; the Fundix Model and other features that may have a potential to improve rural water supply with an outlook on maintenance of existing water infrastructures for communities, schools, clinics, and other rural facilities. Trusting that her research contribution will play a role in finding lasting solutions to social, environmental, and economic challenges.
