Profile

Melanie grew up in the Western Cape of South Africa and now lives in the northwest of England. She completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Sustainable Development (cum laude) in 2019. She hopes to practically apply her knowledge in the United Kingdom. There is much work to do to address the legacies of colonisation and to grasp the knock-on effects it still has today. She is particularly interested in empowering people to discover well-being through engagement with nature.

Melanie used to work in the corporate language industry as a translator, copywriter, editor, and project manager. She enjoys hiking, gardening, reading, writing poetry, and getting lost.
