Profile

Millie’s interests are driven by her love for the ocean and the mountains. Having completed her undergraduate degree in human geography in 2014, Millie persued a career in non-profit organisations building skills in strategic and creative communications. Guided by her passion for the natural world, Millie returned to education to better understand the complex, interconnected reality of the earth and humans. Millie is particularly interested in how powerful communications, in particular storytelling, can bridge the gap between climate and ecological science and the general public.

Millie holds a BA in Geography from Newcastle University, UK, a Cum Laude PGDip in Sustainable Development from Stellenbosch University, and is currently a Sustainable Development MPhil candidate at the Centre for Sustainability Transitions at Stellenbosch University.
