Waste Management

Waste Management at the University includes the following initiatives, among others:

  • The provision of a three-bin system on campus for the recycling of waste;
  • The sorting of waste suitable for recycling;
  • The removal of recyclable and non-recyclable waste to the relevant facilities;
  • Utilisation of garden waste for composting, and
  • The Bokashi project, in terms of which microbes are used to decompose kitchen waste, resulting in a product which can be used on compost heaps.
