Planning and Design

The Planning and Design department manages the systematic planning of physical facilities to support the University in the performance of its duties in the best way possible, with the available resources. This department also conducts continuous research to set and develop standard guidelines for the detailed design and specifications of facilities, in order to comply with the University's strategic goals of accessibility, inclusivity and excellence.

Here is a short overview of what falls under both Planning and Design:


  • Focus on the planning stages of every building project
  • Ensure that projects are aligned to the strategic goals and expectations of our clients Facilities Management and the University
  • Conduct feasibility studies, including high-level cost estimates
  • Ensure that projects are prioritised according to the University's strategic priorities
  • Compilation of budgets, funding strategies and budget management


Compile guidelines for specifications and design of facilities, such as:
