List of editors

Often postgraduate students ask us where they can have their theses, dissertations or proposal/s edited. We have compiled a list of freelance editors and associations that offer these services at a fee. Typically they charge by the word, page or hour - it differs from editor to editor and the student's requirements (for example checking writing style versus a comprehensive edit involving grammar, logic, layout and Afrikaans-English translation).

Freelance Editors, Translators and Transcribers:

View our full list of editors (unvetted) who offer editing services such as thesis, dissertation or proposal editing, translations, transcriptions and technical editing at a fee.

Please contact these service providers directly regarding their CVs, rates and quotes. Remember, it is always a good idea when you approach editors to ask for referees or references too.

Send general enquiries to pgskills@sun.ac.za.

In addition, the SU Language Centre offers extensive language editing and translation services (costs involved). Contact Marguerite van der Waal at 021 808 3096 or Cobus Snyman at 021 808 3096 to get a quotation.
