INTouch: Stellenbosch International Networks and Mobility Update

Office for International Relations… International Office… Postgraduate and International Office… Stellenbosch University International… Our journey over 24 years with a promising and exciting road ahead. In this edition of the INTouch magazine, we introduce the new Stellenbosch University International. There is also news about two new partner universities; the University of Malawi Chancellor College and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, the 2017 SIAN conference and Prof Hester Klopper, Stellenbosch University’s first deputy vice-chancellor for strategic initiatives and internationalization.

Welcome to the third edition of

INTouch, the Stellenbosch International Networks and Mobility update. INTouch gives voice to all the international activities and mobility that has taken place from within Stellenbosch University International (SUI). We introduce you to Koç University in Istanbul, our first partner in Turkey; and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC), one of our longstanding partners in the US. We tell you about a group of Matie students in Mumbai, give a rundown of activities of the Confucius Institute at Stellenbosch and tell you how we grew our African footprint through the Africa Collaboration Grant. This and many more in this edition focusing on mobility.

INTouch aims to bring you in touch with SU's international activities. This second edition focuses on two of SU's new partner institutions, University of Bath and University of Sao Paolo in addition to highlighting some of our networks, delegation visits and student and staff international mobility.

March 2013. Edition 1

INTouch provides an in-depth look at the international academic networks nurtured by Stellenbosch University. From the deepest roots established in 1993, the branches that have grown since and the new partnerships blossoming in future, INTouch reflects on the institutional efforts entered by the university since 1993 up to today and looks at pertinent international networks.

The first edition of INTouch arrives in tandem with the 20 year celebrations by the Postgraduate & International Office (PGIO). In the week of 5 - 9 March 2013, SUI invites its international academic university partners to attend SIAN - Stellenbosch International Academic Networks Meeting - in Stellenbosch to celebrate 20 years of international networks and mobility for staff and students
