African University Day Talk with Prof Jonathan Jansen

Join Stellenbosch University International (SU International) for African University Day celebrations on Friday, 24 November 2017. Observed annually by the Association of African Universities (AAU), African University Day has been celebrated by higher education institutions since 2005. The day focus attention on the African Higher Education sector – with a view of reflecting on progress, challenges, opportunities faced by this important sector.

As in previous years, SU International will coordinate celebrations at Stellenbosch University, hosting an African University Day dialogue. Prof Jonathan Jansen, distinguished professor in the Faculty of Education at SU, will deliver a keynote address. The former vice-chancellor and rector of the University of the Free State will lead discussions about higher education and scholarship on the continent.

SU International will also formally launch the Africa Centre for Scholarship on the day.
