Voluntary Community Engagement (VCE)

Responsibilities: 
  • Logistical assistance of; VCE site-visits (twice a week),including;
  • transport arrangements, 
  • moving equipment between the community project site and the PGIO
  • programme related purchases 
  • Accompany international students on all site visits.
  • Facilitate the on-site planning meeting immediately after the weekly sessions.
  • Be available for consultation 4 hours per week, during which time all printing and photo-copying must also be done.
  • Manage all VCE email correspondence by checking the VCE account daily.
  • Attend weekly supervision with the Community Engagement Programmes co-ordinator.
  • Submit a progress report weekly and a timesheet (work-log) at every supervision session.
  • Liaise with relevant PGIO staff regarding finances and transport.
Requirements:
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have a flare for community development work
  • Have the time to invest 15 hours per week in the programme 
  • Have a valid driver’s licence for more than 1 year
  • Be able to multi-task
  • Be able to manage student demands 
  • Be flexible and adaptable

Vrywillige Gemeenskapsinteraksie (VGI)
 
Posbeskrywing:
  • Logistiekebystandvan die VGI terreinbesoeke (twee keer per week), insluitend die volgende:
    • Vervoerreëlings,
    • Vervoer toerusting tussen die gemeenskapsprojek en die NGIK,
    • Program verwante aankope.
  • Vergesel internasionale studente op alle terreinbesoeke
  • Fasiliteer die terrein beplanningsvergadering direk na die weeklike sessies
  • Wees beskikbaar vir konsultasies vir 4 ure per week, waartydens alle druk – en kopieërwerk gedoen moet word.
  • Hanteer daagliks alle VGI epos korrespondensie 
  • Woon by weeklikse supervisie met die Gemeenskapsinteraksie-program Koördineerder
  • Handig in ‘n weeklikse vorderingsverslag en ‘n tydskedule (“work-log”) met elke supervisie sessie
  • Kommunikeer met relevante NGIK personeel rakende finansies en vervoer
Vereistes:
  • Uitstekende kommunikasievaardighede.
  • Toon vernuf vir gemeenskapsontwikkeling-werk.
  • Beskik oor genoegsame tyd om 15 ure per week te investeer in die program.
  • Gelde bestuurslisensie vir langer as 1 jaar.
  • Die vermoë om te “multi-task”.
  • Die vermoë om studente eise en versoeke te bestuur.
  • Buigsaamheid en aanpasbaarheid in terme van werksvereistes.
