Tubingen - South Africa Program Application

The application form should be completed in full. You will not be able to save the application form and
return to it at a later point of time. You will need about 45 minutes to complete the form.
This application form should only be completed by Stellenbosch University students.

Other application requirements:

Submit one academic and one character reference letter; the reference letters must be sent directly by the referees to the following email address: summer@sun.ac.za. The reference letter can be addressed to Mr. Robert Kotze, Senior Director: SU International

Applications will be reviewed by a panel and some applicants will be invited for interviews. After the interviews have been concluded, nominations will be made to the Senior Director of SU International. After approval by the Senior Director, successful and unsuccessful applicants will be informed of the outcome of the application process.

Please note that certain conditions apply to the Tubingen-South Africa Program.
Summarized Conditions:
  1. Incomplete Applications will not be considered by Stellenbosch University International.
  2. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that his or her application is complete and received by Stellenbosch University International on time.
  3. Only students who have not yet travelled abroad will be considered. The programme is aimed at first time (international) travelers.
  4. Must be able travel to Germany for the month of January 2020.
  5. A student must be registered for a full degree at Stellenbosch University for 2019 and 2020.
  6. Only students in their second year or later will be considered for placement. Students in the final year of their degree will not be considered.
  7. A student must have an overall aggregate of 60%.
  8. Stellenbosch University International reserves the right not to make a placement.
  9. The Decision of the Senior Director of Stellenbosch University International is final.
  10. Stellenbosch University International will not enter into any discussions regarding the placement of students.
  11. Students who have already attended the Tubingen-South Africa Program will not be considered.
  12. Successful applicants have to cover the following expenses:
    • Registration / Administration Fees
    • Traveling Expenses
    • Courier fees for visa application
    • Transport to and from the nearest national airport in South Africa
    • Pocket Money
  13. It is the responsibility of the applicant to make sure that his or her personal documents (passport etc.) are in order and valid as determined by the respective embassy or high commission of the host country.
  14. Must be a South African citizen OR hold a valid South African study permit for 2019 and 2020.
