In celebration of the completion of the first semester, and with the build-up to the official formation of the Materials Engineering group, our research group decided a team-building expedition was in order. What would make an adequate adventure to suit the dynamic nature of our group? After many days of deliberation on the matter we decided that while climbing a peak in the Himalaya’s would be a superb challenge, climbing Devil’s Peak would be an excellent start!
A challenging hike up Devil’s Peak ensued, with us steadily making our way up the side of the peak directly above Rhodes Memorial. Several obstacles, false trails and scrambles later, we made it to the top!
After a restful lunch on the mountain with a spectacular view, we make our way down on a slightly less strenuous trail. All in all a wonderful outing was held and we look forward to our next group adventure!
